SOMETIMES THE RACING GODS ARE ON MY SIDE

Yesterday the poster child for this spot was smiled upon by the racing gods justifying my opinion of COLONEL JOHN to some degree.  While the final time was slow, he was gritty and survivied the tightest photo not seen as a dead heat.  For some reason wasn't DQ'd (did you see him sideswipe MACHO AGAIN?), but why ask why when tickets are cashed?

Can I be so lucky to have MAGNIFICIENCE be graced for a good start to show the world that she's going to be a major threat to the very deep Distaff Division on Breeders' Cup day?  In the G.3 Rancho Bernardo she's a better class fit today than multiple G.1 winner DEAREST TRICKSKI who's racing below her accomplishments to stay on synthetics.  Those two appear to stand out but consideration on wider tickets goes to SILKY SMOOTH and SOCIETY HOSTESS.

The Pat O'Brien looks like MIDNIGHT LUTE, REBELLION, and IN SUMMATION on past class.  HEWITTS may prove tough to run down off a game 3rd in his last pressing a monster pace.

The Del Mar Mile will make or break horizontal tickets.  WHATSTHESCRIPT is probably best at a mile and has a slight nod over MONZANTE.  STONESIDE had a great prep, flew the last part, and could post a big surprise if the favorites don't fire.  DAYTONA is low (5-2) to rebound but his mile efforts in April/May were fantastic and can be used with pricier options

The Pacific Classic is wide open.  AWESOME GEM, GO BETWEEN, and STUDENT COUNCIL fit the race best.
