As if gambling on sports, cards, and even two roaches running across the floor weren't enough, I developed a passion for betting on the ponies about seven years ago. While growing up in Cleveland, my father owned several standard bred pacers and actually won the Ohio Sire Stakes one year.
However, it wasn't until after I graduated law school that I ran into an old friend who took me to Thistledown and taught me all of the details and nuances of race horse betting. Big mistake!
Since moving to Chicago a couple of years ago, I've discovered that he's actually as bad as I am in this game. Thus, I've decided to give up gambling for awhile and focus my time and energy on enlightening and entertaining you all.
