Reason 10,009 why racing is failing.

Need one more reason to prove New York tracks are bush league, and per usual the bettor gets screwed? Friday, today, there was a couple inches of rain at Saratoga. Whamo, like the 3 Stooges in comedic chaos, they cancel the card after two races. No big deal - typical New York. Not so fast, there must be a way to screw the fans. Like Republicans, there is always a way. I know, give a consolation for the pick 4 after running just one race in the pick four! If you did not have the winner of the first leg, use your ticket for toilet paper. If you did have the winner, you may as well use it for toilet paper, as the consolation paid $2 on a $1 ticket. Not so bad? If you put in a multiple ticket, you haven't a prayer of showing a profit. Everybody loses! Well, not quite. The track does quite well, thank you by the keeping of the take out while screwing their customers. You hurry back now!

queenbee, I was curious after reading your entry and checked the chart for race two. They not only screwed the pick four players, they paid a consol to: The pick three for races 1,2,3, the pick three for races 2,3,4, and the daily double for races 2,3. Well, at least they were fair and screwed everyone, not just the pick four players. That raises our question for the week. Should one be happy at a nondiscriminate screwing? I would like to say what they did is unbelievable but this horse racing where things like this, I guess, are normal.

You are, of curse correct. I was so angry at the pick four, I used it as the example, but all the items you checked are equally absurd. Racing is the only game in the world, where your selection never runs and you lose.
