why are pundits down on go-go?.....he was told the filly doesn't respond well to the whip....it was flores who butchered the finish....he was too casual, and was lucky to win.

They singled VENTURA. Seems these days, jocks (no matter if you're the best) are damned if they do or don't. Go-Go can blame riders that have mailed it in more often than not, Kent D. comes immediately to mind and Flores' passivity is ironically causing Gomez to get heat...he gets lumped into that crew when people lose wagers. Gomez is so good everyone expects him to win all the time so it's got to be his fault when he doesn't win at least one graded stakes when there are three offered. I had FOXY in the Oaks...that was a brutal trip for a 20-1 shot who was best considering the trouble, not Gomez' fault, but circumstances. Stretch runners need to get breaks, none came.
